Pakistan pacer Mohammad Abbas signs two-year deal with Hampshire

Pakistan pacer, Mohammad Abbas has signed a two-year contract with English county club Hampshire. He'll appear as one of their overseas players for the next two seasons.

Abbas has been one of Hampshire's key bowler since joining the club in 2021. The 32-year-old has scalped 91 Championship wickets, at an average of 16.83. 

He formed a potent trio alongside Kyle Abbott and Keith Barker as Hampshire pushed for their first title since 1973. The club eventually finished third last season, behind Surrey and Lancashire.

Hampshire director of cricket ecstatic

"Mo has been a big influence on the team. Since his arrival, he has been both an incredible performer and a fantastic role model. To have him around for the next two seasons is a major boost to the squad," Giles White, director of cricket at Hampshire stated.

What did Abbas say?

"I am pleased to have signed a new contract and to be staying with Hampshire for two more years. I've loved my time at the Ageas Bowl and I am looking forward to help my team push for the silverware."

Abbas has represented Pakistan in 25 Test matches, and 3 ODI games. He has 90 Test wickets under his belt, while the speedster has only scalped a solitary wicket in ODI cricket.
