The first day of the Desert Cup Quadrangular T20I witnessed two matches being played at Al Amerat Ground, Oman. Here's a brief report on the action that transpired in the fixtures.

Saudi Arabia vs Oman

Saudi Arabia opted to bat first and had a disappointing start, as the top-order could not stitch partnerships.

It was the composure of Haseeb Ghafoor (34* off 28) to help the team in posting a total of 86. Bilal Khan again impressed with three wickets, followed by Kaleemullah with two scalps.

In reply, Oman had an impressive start with Kashyap Prajapati (32 off 28) and Jatinder Singh (50* off 28) looking in full flow. They chased down the score in a matter of 8.2 overs and won by nine wickets.

Bahrain vs Canada

The game between Bahrain and Canada was a thrilling encounter. Batting first, Bahrain's top order failed to give a good start to the team.

However, the knocks from Sohail Ahmed (80* off 37) and Imran Javed (51 off 42) paved the way for them to score 195 on the board.

Then, Aaron Johnson (51 off 28) along with the support of Matthew Spoors (26 off 29) and Pargat Singh (26 off 17) laid the foundation for the chase.

With 35 needed off two overs, Saad Bin Zafar was sensational to accumulate 28 runs, with all fetching him a four/six. Then, Harsh Thaker finished the game for Canada by hitting a six and a four.

Brief Scores:

Bahrain- 195/7 (20)
