Pakistan's defeat in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 was met with some harsh and extreme reactions from former players and fans. Despite making 137 runs, Pakistan's bowling attack brought England's batting powerhouse under immense pressure, only to be bailed out by the ever-consistent Ben Stokes.

The Babar Azam-led side's batting has been woeful throughout the tournament, and it once again became their downfall on a track that assisted pacers. Former paceman Mohammad Amir has lashed out at Pakistan's batting for their inability to adapt to conditions outside Sydney.

Speaking with 24 News, Amir stated that Pakistan were unworthy of playing in the final on Sunday.

"The fact that we played in the final is a big thing. We didn’t deserve to play in the final. The whole world knows how we advanced to the final. Allah helped us reach there.

"You will get to know the results if you look at the performance of our batters. Once we got out of Sydney, it was given that this would happen,”

Amir lashed out, particularly at Mohammad Haris, who scored 8 off 12 balls. However, Haris's knocks against South Africa and New Zealand were crucial to their victories.
