England were crowned champions of the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup on Sunday (November 13) as they trounced Pakistan by 5 wickets in the summit clash of the showpiece event at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

With this win, England also equaled West Indies to become only the second team in the history of the tournament to lift two T20 World Cup titles, having won the first one back in 2010.

Meanwhile, the batting maverick, Virat Kohli, who is also the highest run-getter of the marquee tournament congratulated the Jos Buttler-led side on their World Cup victory.

Kohli took to Instagram to congratulate England for winning the 2022 T20 World Cup. Here's what Kohli wrote:

"Congratulations England. Well deserved."

As long as the match is concerned, Pakistan posted a paltry total of 137/8 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first, with Sam Curran scalping three wickets for England.

Apart from Curran, Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan also took two wickets each while star all-rounder Ben Stokes scalped one wicket.

In reply, Ben Stokes's unbeaten half-century took England over the finishing line, with an over and five wickets to spare.

With this win, England also became the first team in men's cricket to hold the 50-over World Cup and the T20 World Cup titles simultaneously.
