Virat Kohli becomes the first player to be highest run-getter in two T20 World Cups

After scoring 296 runs in 6 innings, Virat Kohli ended the ICC T20 World cup 2022 as the highest run getter in the tournament. His record breaking runs came at an average of 98.67 accompanied with strike rate of 136.41 helping his side reach the semi-final.

Turning back the clock, Kohli was the leading run scorer in the 2014 edition of the event too with a total of 319 coming from just six innings coming at an average of 106.33. His heroics in the global event that was held in Bangladesh, assisted his side to the finals where they eventually lost out to Sri Lanka. 

After going through a lean patch of around two and a half years, Kohli roared back to form in the Asia Cup where he smacked 276 runs in five games.
