After losing out on a semi-final berth in the T20 World Cup 2022, Bangladesh's key players are set to participate in the Abu Dhabi T10 league that will take place between 23rd November to 4th December. However, they will be missing country's domestic one day tournament Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) which is slated to be played before the ODI series against India.

The names that have signed up up with T10 league are Shakib AL Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Nurul Hasan and Mrittonjoy Chowdhury. To confirm their participation in the league, BCB cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus said,

"Yes, they (the trio representing the national team) will not be playing the BCL one-day version as they will be playing in the Abu Dhabi T10,

"They will be arriving on November 30 to prepare for the upcoming home series against India. I think playing in foreign leagues will help them to get better in shorter format cricket. We feel the more they play in such leagues, the more they will learn,"

BCB is also planning to host the four-day version of the BCL but unavailability of many players meant that the idea was kept on the sidelines for the time being.

"Look, we want the national players to take part in BCL's longer version, so we are planning to hold it when everyone is available and that is the reason we will be playing it at a suitable time rather than organizing it immediately after the 50-over BCL."

Moreover, it could be scheduled after the conclusion of the Bangladesh Premier League which is slated to begin on 6th January.
