AB de Villiers predicts the winner of the T20 World Cup 2022 final

England will take on Pakistan in the finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday and former South African legend AB de Villiers has now predicted the potential winner of the competition.

England picked up a comprehensive win over India in the semifinals on Thursday to book their please in the grand event and Pakistan managed to see off New Zealand in the semifinals.

Both teams have managed to bounce back after a disappointing start to the campaign to book their place in the finals, and they will be desperate to go all the way.

De Villiers tweeted: "My personal opinion, man to man, England must surely take the Cup home! BUT, the beauty of Sport tells us it’s just not that simple! Gonna come down to who wants it most, along with the the rhythm and beauty of the game. Who knows?".

England are the current holders of the ODI World Cup title and they will be hoping to become the first team to hold the World Cup title for ODIs and T20Is at the same time.

On the other hand, Pakistan will feel that this is their opportunity to stamp their authority on international cricket with a victory over England. With key players like Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in good form, the Men in Green will feel that they are capable of beating any side on their day.

It will be interesting to see if they navigate the challenge a Jos Buttler-led England will pose on Sunday.

While many have predicted England to win the competition this year, Pakistan are no pushovers. They will be happy to accept the tag of the underdogs, heading into the final on Sunday. The Asian giants will look play without pressure and enjoy their cricket.
