England batsman Joe Root has warned the Three Lions that they will have to be wary of Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022 finals on Sunday.

England did well to book their place in the finals after a convincing win over India on Thursday and they will hope to go all the way and lift the trophy by beating Pakistan on Sunday. On the other hand, Pakistan have done remarkably well to bounce back from their dismal start in the tournament and book their place in the finals with a win over New Zealand in the semifinals.

Root has cautioned England that Pakistan are a very dangerous team, and they have a number of match-winners at their disposal. The England star also outlined the threat of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan at the top of the order.

Root has urged England to stay on top of their game and stay focused on the job at hand.

The likes of Jos Buttler and Alex Hales seemed in ominous form during the semifinals against India, and the two players will have to take responsibility a quality Pakistan pace bowling unit. With the likes of Shaheen Afridi back in form, the England batters will have to be careful in the final.

“They have got some brilliant match-winners within their team; some brilliant bowling outfit, and some very talented batters. Lot spoken about the two lads at the top (Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan), and how consistent they have been in this format for an extended period.

“There are some wonderful players in there, so you know they are a very dangerous team, and you gotta make sure that you are right on top of your game when it comes to the big final.”
