Ashleigh Gardner achieves exclusive WBBL record

In a rare feat, Sydney Sixers' Ashleigh Gardner became the first player to score 25-plus runs and claim three wickets thrice in a single Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) season.
The all-rounder stamped the record in her name as the Sixers locked horns with Melbourne Stars on Saturday in the 40th match of the WBBL 2022.
Batting at no. 4, Gardner gathered 28 runs for her team while also taking four wickets in the fixture with her off-spin. This marked the third occasion of such a coup with the 25-year-old locking similar achievements in the games against Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder.

Gardner's paints WBBL|08 with her all-round bravado
Sydney Sixers, who currently are sitting at the top of the points table, have greatly benefited from Gardner's heroics.
The New South Wales-born is the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament as of now, claiming 18 scalps in 10 matches. She also has mustered 180 runs in nine innings.
