Pakistan will take on England in the finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 and captain Babar Azam has vowed to give it his all against the Three Lions on Sunday.
The Men in Green were exceptional against New Zealand in the semis and a similar performance at the MCG on Sunday could see them lift the trophy.
After a dismal start to the tournament, Pakistan have done remarkably well to come back into contention and secure their place in the final.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam has drawn similarities with Pakistan's World Cup run in 1992 as well when they were down and out but they came back strongly to win the competition.
Speaking to ICC ahead of the final against England, Babar Azam said:
"Of course the similarities are the same, but we will try to win the trophy as it is honour for me to lead this team, especially in this big ground. We will try to give our 100 per cent tomorrow's match and let's see.
"Of course we have our first two matches lost, and that cost us. But the way our team come back last four matches and they perform very well, and we are playing good cricket in the last four matches. Yes, we will try to continue that momentum in the final."
The Pakistan captain has heaped praise on the England team, who have done really well in their recent games. Babar Azam lavished praise on the England duo of Jos Buttler and Alex Hales as well. The duo put together a ferocious partnership against India.
"I think England is one of the best teams around and we had played a series against them recently. Cricket was pretty competitive in that series. Of course, Jos (Butler) and Alex Hales played outstandingly well in the semifinal. However, we will try and give our best in tomorrow's match and we know our pace attack is one of the best and will try to stay with our strength and execute our plans."
