On Thursday, team India were knocked out of the T20 World Cup after their crushing ten-wicket defeat to England in the second semifinal in Adelaide. Batting first, the Men in Blue posted a modest 168 on the board, which England chased with four overs to spare.

This was the sixth time India faltered in the knockout of an ICC event in the last eight years. Considering their failure to jump the final hurdle, fans and experts across the globe took a jibe at Rohit Sharma and co, addressing them as chokers.

Meanwhile, former India captain Kapil Dev has justified people tagging India as 'chokers'. However, the legendary all-rounder also advised the Indian fans not to be over-critical of the players, who have immensely contributed to the team's success over the years.

Kapil Dev, who led India to a World Cup title in 1983, also lauded England for their absolute dominance over India in the crucial clash.

Here's what Kapil Dev stated

"Yes, we can call them chokers. That's okay. They come close and then choke. I agree, India played bad cricket, but we cannot be overly critical based on just one game,

"England read the pitch better and played better cricket. We should not be too harsh on our players. These are the same guys who have brought laurels to the country. 168-170 is a good score. But if you don’t bowl according to the pitch, then this is what is going to happen."
