One of the most destructive batters in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022, Surya Kumar Yadav will be in action for India as they go up against England in the semi-finals today. Opponents have found it demanding to keep Yadav down on the field, where he has hit bowlers in every nook and corner of the ground.

So far, Yadav has amassed 225 runs in five matches at a staggering striker rate of 193.97. Former Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, ahead of the semi-final, has revealed a strategy for how England bowlers can stop the right-handed batter.

Speaking on ASports, Haq explained that the positioning of the fielders plays a massive role in how the Mumbai Indians batter scores.

"I think the most important part will be the fielding plans. The fielders in fine leg and square leg are very important. You have to keep the fine leg fielder finer. Even the square leg fielder should be kept inside.

So that he can’t utilize the pace and play shots behind the wicket. You have to keep him away from his strengths.”

Haq's Pakistan teammate Shoaib Malik echoed similar views, stating that it is important to utilise fielding positions against Yadav.

The winner of India versus England meet Pakistan in the final on Sunday.
