Kolkata Knight Riders have roped in former Netherlands all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate as their fielding coach ahead of the IPL 2023. KKR's official Twitter handle surfaced the news on Tuesday.

Doeschate has represented Knight Riders in 29 matches, slamming 326 runs at an impressive strike rate of 138.72. The stylish right-hander was also a crucial part of the Gautam Gambhir-led team, which emerged triumphant in 2012 and 2014.

Further, hailed as the best-ever cricketer from the Netherlands, Doeschate has 2074 runs and 68 wickets to his name in a 13-year-long international career.

In another notable development, the two-time champions appointed former English keeper-batter James Foster as their assistant coach. Foster, who has represented England in 23 matches, has served as KKR's fielding coach in the past.

KKR had an underwhelming IPL 2022 campaign, finishing at the seventh position in the points table with only six wins from fourteen matches. As it seems, the Shreyas Iyer-led side has revamped its coaching staff in order to uplift their performance in the upcoming season.
