​England Women to tour West Indies for ODI and T20I series in December

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have released the schedule for England Women's upcoming tour of the West Indies. The tour will comprise a three-match One-Day International (ODI) and a five-match T20I series, which gets underway in December.

The ODI series will be part of the all-important ICC Women's Championship, where hosts West Indies occupy the fifth place with two points, while visitors England remain in the seventh spot with zero wins.

The 50-overs series commences on December 4 and concludes on December 9, where all games will take place in Antigua.

The T20Is that begin on December 11 will witness only the first match being played in Antigua before both teams shift base to Barbados until December 22.

For England, star players likes Nat Sciver and Heather Knight are likely to make a comeback after missing the India series at home. 

Director of England Women's Cricket, Jonathan Finch expressed delight over the tour.

"It's always a great place to visit and with a new head coach soon to come on board it's the beginning of a new cycle for this team.

The West Indies series sees our first overseas round of the ICC Women's Championship and it's key we get some points on the board. The tour also plays an important role in preparing for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup early next year."
