Suryakumar Yadav showcased his incredible hitting prowess for the umpteenth time in India's final Super 12 clash against Zimbabwe in Melbourne. Coming at number four, Surya hammered a breathtaking 25-ball 61*, propelling the Men in Blue to a mammoth 186 in 20 overs. Later, the Indian bowlers ran riot as Zimbabwe fell short of the target by a whopping 71-run margin.

After India's thumping win, legendary former opener Gautam Gambhir lavished praise on Surya for his ruthless knock. The stylish southpaw explained how Surya's range makes him unique in the Indian batting lineup, even declaring him his Player of the tournament.

Here's how Gambhir lauded Suryakumar

"There are players like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, who are very orthodox players. Suryakumar Yadav is different,

"Enjoy and relish it because you don’t get these kind of players that often and India has never had this kind of a player, especially batting at no. 4. Above 200 runs with three fifties; he is the Player of the Tournament for me already even if India don’t go on to win it. He is already the best because the kind of impact he has had."

With a clinical win over Zimbabwe, Rohit Sharma and co entered the knockouts in grand style and will take on England in the second semi-final in Adelaide on Thursday.
