IND vs ZIM: Suryakumar Yadav completes 1000 T20I runs in 2022

Star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has added another feather to his decorated crown, completing 1000 T20I runs in 2022. The swashbuckling right-hander hammered a scintillating 61* during his 25-ball stay against Zimbabwe and became the first Indian batter to attain the milestone.

Suryakumar has enjoyed astounding success in the shortest format this year. Although he started the year on a poor note, India's Mr 360 regained his mojo by slamming a sensational 55-ball 117, albeit on a losing cause, against England in Nottingham. And he has never looked back since then, emerging as India's go-to-man with the bat in most of the T20Is they have played in the past few months. 

Riding on KL Rahul's vital fifty and a Surya's counterattacking knock, India posted a massive 186 on the board. As of writing, Zimbabwe are nought for one in 1.3 overs.
