In a remarkable turn of events, the Netherlands handed a 13-run defeat to mighty South Africa in their final Super 12 fixture in Adelaide. Riding on a stupendous collective effort, the Dutch posted a fighting 158 on the board and later defended it successfully to record one of the most memorable victories in their history.

The Netherlands captain Scott Edwards was ecstatic after the victory, as he expressed his emotions in the post-match presentation.

The stylish keeper-batter stressed that they will rejoice for a long time and revealed that a direct ticket to the next World Cup was what motivated them to play out of their skin against South Africa.

Here's what Edwards stated

"I am lost for words. This will take a bit of time to take it all in. We are used to these conditions in the Netherlands. We were confident around the 160-mark to defend this,"

"Another great experience, another big upset from the Netherlands. Absolute goal for us after losing the the first two games that we are still playing for a spot in the next World Cup."

Definitely, the Netherlands played outstandingly throughout the tournament, which finally paid rich dividends for them. They were particularly phenomenal with the ball, not letting the opponents breach the 160-run mark five times in the showpiece event.
