T20 World Cup 2022: Sachin Tendulkar trolls South Africa after loss to Netherlands

South Africa crashed out of the World Cup earlier today after a humiliating defeat against the Netherlands. 

The Dutch did exceptionally well with the ball to restrict the Proteas to a score of just 145/8 from their quota of 20 overs, having set them a total of 159. 

South Africa started the World Cup really well but two consecutive defeats against Pakistan and the Netherlands have forced them out of the tournament. 

At one point, they were being tipped as one of the favourites to win the World Cup this year. South Africa were excellent against India during the Super 12 clash between the two teams. 

Few would have expected them to crash out before the semi finals. 

South Africa were mercilessly trolled on social media after their defeat to the minnows and former Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar joined in on the act as well. 

The World Cup winner took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the game. His tweet read: "Went for breakfast with a friend. Told him we'll go Dutch. He almost choked at the proposition."

Meanwhile, Netherlands will be delighted with their showing in the World Cup so far. Although they won't make it to the semis, they can take a lot of heart from their performances.
