Veteran India cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has become the flag-bearer of the 'Mankad dismissal' since executing the same to get rid of Jos Buttler in the IPL 2019. And now, with India gearing up for their final Super 12 fixture against Zimbabwe, Ashwin has come up with a quirky response when asked if he would like to be dismissed that way in the game.

Considering the mode of dismissal completely legal, Ashwin argued that he will use it as an advantage if the opponents decide not to execute it against him under any circumstance.

Elaborating on the matter, the wily spinner clarified that he wouldn't like getting out at all, regardless of the mode of dismissal.

Here's what Ashwin said

"I mean, if people are going to come out and say that they won't do it, as a cricketer, I'll use that as an advantage for myself. It's good to know that they won't do it because you can run the last minute, and you can wait,

"I don't like being nicked off, bowled, run out any way. I also wouldn't like to get run out at the non-striker because it's a form of dismissal, and it's pretty legal. Honestly, I also wouldn't like to get out like that just because I don't like – it's not like I can't get out like that."

Meanwhile, Ashwin has blown hot and cold in the tournament, scalping three wickets at an ordinary economy of 8.15. So, he will aim at a redemption, when he enters the field on Sunday.
