In a major boost for the South African side, key middle order batter David Miller is likely to be fit for the Super 12 game against the Netherlands.

The southpaw missed South Africa's last match against Pakistan due to a back spasm and his recovery is a boon for the Temba Bavuma led side who are aiming to secure their place in the semi-finals.

In the last match, Miller's absence was felt by the South African side as they were hammered by Pakistan in a one-sided contest. Bavuma is keeping his fingers crossed and is hoping that Miller gets fit before the crucial encounter.

Bavuma's take on Miller's injury

"I am not the representative of the medical team, but I do believe it was a precautionary measure. Obviously we have the game against the Netherlands on Sunday and hopefully David can be fit for that game. As far as I know, he wasn't fully fit for the Pakistan game and it was a precautionary measure not to field him."

The Proteas skipper also says it's a wake-up call for the Proteas after that loss against Pakistan.

"As a team if we are going to lose, it's probably now. Looking at our next game, that is a must-win for us because of where we stand in the table after four games."
