BCB set to raise controversial umpiring issue after narrow defeat to India

In a significant development, Bangladesh Cricket Board is planning to reopen the controversial 'fake fielding' case in the concerned forum after the team's narrow five-run defeat to India in Adelaide on Wednesday. 

Notably, Bangladesh keeper-batter Nurul Hasan accused the legendary India batter Virat Kohli of 'fake fielding' in the post-match presser. Furthermore, Nurul expressed his displeasure over the on-field umpires' failure to notice the incident and award Bangladesh five penalty runs. Thus, the swashbuckling batter indirectly blamed the match officials for his side's gut-wrenching loss in the match, which seemed to be in their grasp for a considerable period of time. 

Now, as per the latest development, the BCB seems to have taken the matter seriously and is set to raise it before the concerned authorities. The message was conveyed by none other than the apex body's president Mr Jalal Yunus, who slammed the officials for their casual mistakes during the game. 

Here's what Mr Yunus said

"We have spoken about it. You have seen it in the TV and everything happened in front of you. There was one regarding fake throw and we have notified the umpires about the fake throw but he said he did not notice it and that is the reason he did not take the review,

"Secondly, Shakib had spoken about the wet field and he asked that he can take some more time and let the field get dried and start the game after the field is dried. But... the umpires' decision is final and that is reason there was no place for argument. We have it in our head so that we can raise the issue in the proper forum."
