It has been a sub-par T20 World Cup 2022 for Indian opener KL Rahul so far.

The Indian batter has attracted a lot of criticism for his performances in the showpiece event and he will be relieved with a much-needed half century against Bangladesh earlier today.

Rahul seemed in good touch against the Tigers and he will be hoping to build on his performance today and end the tournament on a high now.

India will need more assistance from their top order batters if they want to go all the way.

Reflecting on the form of the under-fire Indian opener, former England star Graeme Swann has claimed that Rahul has the potential to be a superstar for his team in the World Cup.

Swann claims that Rahul has been playing the ball too late and he needs to take a more aggressive approach.

As quoted by ANI, Swann said:

"I think he's just out of form, he looked like he was getting back in form at Perth when he smashed one out of the ground but then he ran one down to slip. So, it's just a batsman who's trying to play the ball too late at the minute. He needs to get on the front foot more, hit the ball and really watch the ball hard. You definitely can't drop him, KL Rahul is a potential superstar in the World Cup final."

There is no doubt that KL Rahul is a phenomenal batter with outstanding technique. However, he has suffered from lack of confidence and belief in his recent outings.

Recently, Sunil Gavaskar also maintained that Rahul is a top class player who needs to believe in his abilities.
