Virat Kohli becomes the highest run-getter in T20 World Cup history

In a remarkable turn of events, Virat Kohli has become the highest run-scorer in T20 World Cup history. The talismanic India batter surpassed former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene to attain this phenomenal feat during India's fourth Super 12 encounter against Bangladesh. 

Notably, Kohli needed only 16 runs, which he scored in 13 deliveries to etch his name in the record books.

Virat Kohli has been in a dream patch in the World Cup. After winning India their opening game single-handedly against Pakistan, the batting maestro hammered another scintillating half century against the Netherlands in the subsequent fixture. Although he recorded a rare failure against South Africa, he seems to be in a sublime touch in the ongoing match against Bangladesh, being unbeaten at a 18-ball 23* as of writing.
