Chris Wright extends County contract with Leicestershire till 2023

Chris Wright has signed a one-year extension with Leicestershire. The seasoned speedster joined the cricket club in 2019 after spending eight years at Warwickshire.

Since Chris Wright arrived at the Leicestershire Cricket Club in 2019, he has claimed 154 wickets across formats.

The cricketer made his first-class debut in the 2004 English season for Middlesex. He then joined Essex in 2008 and subsequently played for the Warwickshire Cricket Club between 2011 and 2018.

Wright has collected 540 first-class wickets throughout his journey and over 700 wickets across all competitive cricket.

The ace paceman expressed his delight over extending another season with Leicestershire.


Here's what Wright stated

“I am delighted to extend my stay. I'm focused on playing for as long as I can.”

Leicestershire's director of cricket Claude Henderson also praised Wright for his professionalism and leadership attributes. He also admitted to looking forward to see him represent the club the upcoming season.
