India's opening woes during the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022 has been a cause of worry for management. The lack of runs from KL Rahul is facing backlash from former players and fans alike. India's limited-overs vice-captain has managed just 22 runs from three games and will look to gain momentum heading into the business end of the tournament.

Despite criticism and calls to drop Rahul heating up, head coach Rahul Dravid has backed the opener to come good in upcoming matches. The Rohit Sharma-led side will take on Bangladesh tomorrow at Adelaide, in a bit to qualify for the semi-finals.

According to IndiaToday, Dravid opined that the conditions in Australia at this time are not ideal for openers' as seen with other players also.

"No, not at all (his technique, and mindset bothering you?). He is a fantastic player, he has got a proven track record. He is batting superbly (at the nets). And these things can happen. In a T20 game, it's been tough. It's not been easy for top-order batters in this T20 World Cup. The ball has been doing a bit.

"In these conditions, we are able to afford him that time. We have no concerns about him, we completely back him. When he gets going, I know the impact this guy can make"

India's final Super 12 stage match will be against Zimbabwe on Sunday.
