West Indies, under Nicholas Pooran, were knocked out from the T20 World Cup 2022 race in the qualifying stages of the tournament itself. They sustained two shock defeats from three opening-round matches, with Scotland and Ireland claiming big wins over them.

After the disappointing early exit from Australia, skipper Pooran has vowed to bounce back strongly in West Indies' future assignments.

The West Indies captain recently claimed that he loves embracing challenges, and leading his side after their disastrous World Cup campaign will be another challenge for him. He said that he is looking to learn from his experiences, and he, along with his teammates, is currently focusing on self-improvement.

Pooran also claimed that he will use the defeat as a motivation to come back strongly in future.

Here's what Pooran stated

"I am a person that embraces challenges and this was just another one for me. It is not going to stop me. Obviously, we don’t know what the future holds but we will take it day by day. Again, it was a learning experience for all of us and this is our journey and our story. Time will tell what will happen but for now it is just about focusing on ourselves and how we can get better as individuals."

West Indies will tour Australia for a two-match Test series scheduled next month.
