Haseeb Hameed signs contract extension with Nottinghamshire

Haseeb Hameed has signed a contract extension with the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club for two more years. The extension will keep him with the club until the end of the 2024 season.

Haseeb has amassed over 2,500 runs across all formats, averaging 47.52 and 52 in first-class and List A, respectively. 

In the 2022 edition of County Championship Two, Hameed slammed 1235 runs at an average of 58.80, with a top score of 196, including four centuries. This was the second-highest run tally in the County Championship on either division after Derbyshire's Wayne Madsen (1,273 runs). 

The 25-year-old shone brightly in the Royal London One Day Cup, amassing 309 runs in eight innings at an average of 51.50, with two half-centuries and a century.

Haseeb feels Trent Bridge is his home and was grateful for the opportunity to extend his stint. 

Furthermore, the elegant batter thinks his game has improved in the last three years with the club.

“My confidence has grown a great deal, and even in the last year I feel like my game has developed to the point where I played better than ever."

Haseeb made his Test debut at 19 against India at Rajkot in 2016. The top-order batter has been a part of 10 red-ball matches, wherein he has scored 439 runs, laced with four half-centuries.
