Haider Ali and Khushdil Shah have been under the radar of Pakistan Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim. The power-hitting middle-order duo haven't been at their best in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022

Wasim has starkly warned the duo to start working on their performances considering that the Pakistani middle-order is rested on their backs. In the thrilling contest against India, Ali and Shah barely contributed as Ali scored a couple of runs and Shah had been on the sidelines.

Chief Selector's stark remark

"About Haider Ali, if you look at his last three matches' performance, you will see a marked improvement. In white ball cricket, especially in the middle order, players cannot win you every match and our top order has been heavy and performing well."

"Asif Ali is a match winner, Haider Ali has won us matches and Khushdil Shah as well but these players have a different role and they can't win you every game but we expect more consistency from them, and we are hoping that UAE, which has been like a home venue for us, there will be an improvement in their performances,"

Pakistan were unable to defeat Zimbabwe as well, where Haider went back to the dugout with a golden duck. The match ended in a one-run loss for Pakistan. A lot has been said about Pakistan's poor stint in the tournament.

Skipper Babar Azam was all-under fire after two consecutive losses, former Pakistan captain Salim Malik slammed Babar for his decisions and stated that he should take a leave from captaincy if he isn't faring well.
