After crashing out of T20 World Cup 2022, West Indies cricket team were under intense scanner especially their coaches, management and bosses. Head Phil Simmons was the first man who resigned from his position following the debacle.

Now, Cricket West Indies' Chief Executive Officer Johnny Grave has laid clear his ambitions which could be determinant to his future. He has stated that he is not willing to let go off his post, mentioning that he is not a 'quitter'.

His comments are coming at a time when are a lot of officials are under scrutiny which could have led to further departures. He was straight-forward in saying that his contract isn't over and he will remain at the helm of things till the time he is here.

What CWI CEO said

Adding to his statement, he said that he takes full responsibility of the loss while admitting that their system has failed.

“I am not in control of that. My contract, as I said, runs out in June 2023. But am I a quitter? Am I gonna resign? No, I’m not,

“Whether that contract gets renewed will be down to the board of directors of Cricket West Indies,

“The fault is, I think, a collective responsibility because the players and the team are an output of the system and ultimately that system has on the highest possible stage, in the worst possible situation, failed.”

West Indies after getting eliminated from the first stage of T20 World Cup 2022, will play a two-match Test series in Australia after the conclusion of the mega-event.
