The 19th match of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2022 witnessed Adelaide Strikers beat table-toppers Brisbane Heat by 31 runs. The day belonged to Strikers bowlers Darcie Brown and Megan Schutt, who rushed past their opponents, claiming four wickets apiece.

Brown and Schutt dismantle the Heat

Chasing 141, the Heat crumbled, courtesy of spectacular four-wicket hauls from Darcie Brown and Megan Schutt.

These two experienced Australian bowlers rocked the Heat's top order, sending back the likes of Georgia Redmayne, Danielle Wyatt, and Georgia Voll for single-digit scores.

Amelia Kerr and Charli Knott held the fort for a while, adding 52 runs for the fifth wicket before the former was scalped by Brown.

Skipper Jess Jonassen remained unbeaten on 23, as Strikers bowlers bundled out the Heat for 109 in 16.4 overs.

With this win, the Strikers moved to the fourth place in WBBL 08 standings.

Laura Wolvaardt powers Strikers to a fighting total

Put into bat, Adelaide Strikers lost opener Deandra Dottin in the second over. Katie Mack and Laura Wolvaardt consolidated for their side while scoring at a brisk rate.

The 64-run stand was broken by Jonassen, who claimed Mack for 35. This opened the floodgates for the Heat, who picked up regular wickets to halt their charge.

Wolvaardt top-scored with a 40-ball 46, falling to Amelia Kerr. India's Pooja Vastrakar picked up the crucial wicket of Tahlia McGrath.

Jonassen and Nicola Hancock claimed three wickets each as the Strikers managed 140 runs in their 20 overs.
