Riding on spectacular fifties from Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav and a superb collective bowling effort, India swatted aside the Netherlands in their second Super 12 encounter in Sydney on Thursday. Batting first, India posted a competitive total of 179 runs and later defended it to acquire the top spot in the points table.

Following India's thumping win, skipper Rohit Sharma hailed his troops for such a clinical performance. Although the veteran opener admitted to being dissatisfied with his fifty, he seemed relieved after contributing some vital runs to the team's success.

Here's what Rohit stated

"Looking at the way they have qualified for the Super 12s, credit to them. We, however, always looked to what we could do with ourselves, not bothering about the opposition. To be honest, this was a near-perfect win,

"Yes, we played a little slow at the start, but that was the conversation between Virat and me; we had to wait on that surface to play the big shots. I'm not too happy with my fifty, but getting runs is important."

With this astounding victory, India have boosted their net run rate significantly. They will lock horns with South Africa in Perth on Sunday.
