Match 22 of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022 witnessed truckloads of records being broken by South African batters against Bangladesh at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The duo of Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw smashed Bangladeshi bowlers to all parts of the ground, registering the highest partnership in a T20 World Cup match (168).

They went past Sri Lanka's batting legends Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara's record-stand of 166 runs against West Indies in the 2010 edition.

Rossouw and de Kock also broke South African highest T20I partnership record, surpassing Herschelle Gibbs and Justin Kemp's 120-run stand, which came in the first match of the 2007 World Cup against West Indies.

De Kock fell for 63, whereas Rossouw scored his second T20I hundred. The 33-year-old became the first player to notch a ton in the ongoing edition.

Rossouw, who became South Africa's only T20 centurion, fell for 109, helping the Proteas post a mammoth 205 runs against the Bangla Tigers.
