Pakistan heading into the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, were suffering a lot with lack of good performances from their middle-order headed by the likes of Asif Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Haider Ali, and Shadab Khan.

While other have yet to shine, Ahmed stood out with his performance against India at Melbourne Cricket Stadium last evening.

The 32-year-old slammed a 34-ball 51, helping his side out of a hole. Ahmed's onslaught against India's Akshar Patel, turned the tides in Pakistan's favour, as scoring become more fluent.

However, Ahmed has constantly been criticised by plenty for his batting style, which many times looked quite causal.

During his 51-run knock, Ahmed became the only Pakistani batter to smack four sixes in an innings in Australia, bettering his own record of three during the 2019 tour.

According to cricketpakistan, Ahmed hit back at his critics, expressing that they only point figures at him, and do not see his performances.

"My performance is not as bad as people point fingers at me. Those who talk negatively, I take positive out of it,"

"I try to give my hundred percent in every match; I did not know that I became the first Pakistani batsman to hit four sixes in Australia,"

Ahmed, much-like Pakistan skipper Babar Azam backed Mohammad Nawaz for their upcoming matches, after the all-rounder failed to defend 16 runs in the last over.

Babar Azam-led Pakistan will now take on Zimbabwe in their second fixture this Thursday at Perth.
