T20 World Cup 2022: Pakistan's Shan Masood injured, taken to hospital

Pakistan have been dealt a major injury blow ahead of their T20 World Cup 2022 opener against India on the 23rd of October. 

According to reports, batsman Shan Masood has been taken to the hospital after he was hit on the head. Apparently, a shot from Mohammad Nawaz left him on the ground for a span of five to seven minutes before he had to be taken to the hospital. 

The true extent of the injury is yet to be determined. It remains to be seen whether Masood is ruled out of the India game now. In the event Shan Masood is ruled out of the India game, Fakhar Zaman could come in as a replacement. 

Masood has recently done well in the T20 Blast and the County Championships with Derbyshire. He impressed in the T20Is against England as well. 

The number three batter would have hoped to have a quality tournament with the Men in Green and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
