Duo backed as match-winners for Australia in the T20 World Cup 2022

Hosts Australia will be one of the favourites to win the T20 World Cup 2022 and former coach John Buchanan has picked out two players who will be the match-winners for the Aaron Finch-led side. 

Buchanan has led Australia to multiple World Cup winning campaigns and he will know what it takes to go all the way in a marquee event such as this. 

Australia have an exceptional squad at their disposal with match-winners in every position. Given they are the hosts, there will be an added pressure on the players to perform and secure the trophy in their own backyard. 

It remains to be seen whether the players can step up and produce the performances required of them. 

Buchanan has now outlined (h/t Hindustan Times) two players who could end up defining Australia's World Cup campaign. 

The former coach picked out Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa as the match-winners for their side. While Starc has been a world-class performer for Australia over the years, Zampa has always stepped up in the big occasions. 

Zampa had picked up 13 wickets from seven matches in the previous edition of the World Cup and he will fancy his chances of another successful campaign in home conditions. 

"Mitchell Starc with the ball. I think he's a potential match winner. But i do think one of the key players for Australia will be Zampa. If he has a good tournament then Australia will have a very good tournament.”
