West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder heaped massive praise on his team-mate Alzarri Joseph for his sensational performance against Zimbabwe in T20 World Cup 2022.

Batting first, West Indies managed to post 153 on the board, with Johnson Charles (45) and Rovman Powell (28) as the top run-scorers. In reply, Zimbabwe were off to a flyer, as they amassed 29 runs off the first two overs, with Regis Chakabva and Wesley Madhevere in full flow.

Then Joseph came in the third and knocked over Chakabva in the second ball.

In his subsequent over, Joseph bowled a searing yorker, which got past the defence of Tony Munyonga, tilting the match in favour of the Caribbean team.

Joseph then came in the death overs and dismissed Luke Jongwe (29), who was threatening to take the game away from West Indies. In the end, Joseph finished with figures of four for 16, helping his team to win by 31 runs.

In this regard, Holder lauded Joseph for his progression in T20Is and urged him to be a leader and pave the way for West Indies to go deep in the tournament.

Here's how Holder praised Joseph

"Alzarri should be proud of his progression. I see him as a leader. He's leading the attack at a young age and showing great attributes as a leader. His performances don't surprise me because of the work he's put in. My simple words to him are just lead the attack and get us onto the right track."

West Indies will lock horns with Ireland on Friday (October 21), which will be a must-win game for them.
