After a big setback to the Island Nation in form of Dushmantha Chameera getting ruled out due to calf injury, ace pacer Kasun Rajitha has been drafted in as his replacement for the T20 World Cup 2022.

The news came in a day before Sri Lanka's game against Netherlands, which is practically do or die for them. Chameera was on fire against Sri Lanka's previous match against UAE where he grabbed 2/15 in 3.1 overs to lead his side to a 79 runs victory.

Furthermore, Pramod Madushan is also slated to miss the upcoming encounter, the reason being his hamstring injury.

Previously, he was sidelined from the Asia Cup because of the ankle injury and now, again his injury has reached his calf.

Rajitha, was a part of reserves along with Asitha Fernando and Matheesha Pathirana, who could be reaching Down Under anytime soon. Dilshan Madushanka, too, was recently sidelined with Binura Fernando announced as his replacement.
