To the delight of Pakistani fans, promising leg spinner Usman Qadir has recovered from the thumb injury he sustained during the England T20Is on home soil.

In an image released by the PCB's official Twitter handle, Qadir is seen bowling in the nets. Notably, the 29-year-old damaged his thumb while executing a magnificent catch of Alex Hales in the fourth T20I of the recently concluded home series against England. The unfortunate injury ruled him out of the series, and Fakhar Zaman subsequently replaced him in the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup.

As it stands, Qadir is with the team as a reserve player alongside Mohammad Haris and Shahnawaz Dahani for the World Cup in Australia. He will make the cut into the main squad only if someone from those fifteen players gets injured.

In his two-year-long international career, Qadir has represented Pakistan in 23 T20Is with decent success, scalping 29 wickets at an economy of 8.13. Although he sometimes goes for runs, the wily leg spinner has impressed one and all with his incredible wicket-taking skills.

However, with Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz being locked as the two frontline spinners, Pakistan are unlikely to consider Qadir in their World Cup eleven, even if he somehow manages to sneak into the main squad.
