In what was a dramatic day at the T20 World Cup opener, Sri Lanka were stunned by the class of Namibia, defeating them by a margin of 55 runs. Jan Frylinck and JJ Smit with the bat, along with David Wiese and Bernard Scholtz with the ball, proved too difficult for the Asian champions to handle.

All-rounder Chamika Karunaratne opened up on the defeat and blamed his side for the heavy loss. However, he believed the side needs to correct their attitude, which could help them overcome their weakness.

"What we have to do is we have to bring the right attitude. That's the most important thing. But we have to have that. Not for us, even for the other sides, as well. But I think if we bring the right attitude - that's the main thing - we can beat any team anytime,"

He stated that his side needs to win the next two matches at any cost to qualify for the next round.

"You know, yesterday we lost the match, and so right now, somehow we have to win; no matter what, we have to win the next two matches."

Sri Lanka will next face UAE and Netherlands in Round 1 of the T20 World Cup, and in order to move to the Super 12 stage, they are in dire need of a victory.
