In what could be dispiriting news for the fans, the World Cup clash between India and arch-nemesis Pakistan on 23rd October in Melbourne could be under some severe rain threat.

According to accuweather.com, 26.5 mm of rain is predicted on the night of the summit clash, which is enough to jeopardise any match. While, there is a 76% probability of precipitation, the wind speed is expected to be 20 km/h.

It is not just India Pakistan clash but almost all matches from 21st October till the end of the month are under the gloomy skies riding on a thin piece of thread. Furthermore, some matches next month could also face a threat.

Generally, October doesn't host much cricket in Australia due to extremely chilly weather and unpredictable rains. However, with Australian cricketing summer coming, it was squeezed into these two available months.

The action-packed match is already a full house with 1,00,000 tickets getting sold.

India and Pakistan have played each other twice this year in the Asia Cup, with the scoreline being levelled. However, last year, the Green Nation got better of their neighbours for the very first time in the T20 World Cup.

Today, India defeated Australia, whereas the English side cleaned up Pakistan in the warm-up game.
