Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be a key player for his side in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022.

The 29-year-old has been in impressive form since his return from injury and he had a promising IPL campaign with Gujarat Titans. Pandya followed it up with reliable performances with the bat and ball in the recently concluded T20Is against the likes of Ireland, England and Australia.

In the absence of Ravindra Jadeja, Pandya will be India's premier all-rounder and the Men in Blue will be expecting defining performances from him in Australia.

Speaking to BCCI ahead of India's World Cup opener against Pakistan on the 23rd of October, Pandya revealed that his goal is to make a lasting impact with his fielding in the tournament.

Pandya believes that his fitness has come on leaps and bounds in recent months and he plans to be an exceptional asset for his side as a fielder.

India's fielding has been criticised in recent months and they will have to step up their efforts if they want to win the marquee event in Australia this year.

"God has been kind to me, my fitness has gone up. I am able to spend a lot of time on my fielding with our coach (T Dillip). I was always natural as a fielder, but I want to be exceptional. Now, I am able to spend some time on my skills and get those difficult catches. My goal this year is to grab a catch that could go down as one of my best ever."
