During a chat show with Wasim Akram and Shoaib Malik, Pakistan's former skipper Misbah-ul-Haq made a sarcastic remark on why the current Pakistan side does not fancy playing shots like scoop or switch hit.

He mentioned that after his iconic shot in the 2007 T20 World Cup Final that handed India their maiden title in the format, his fellow countrymates stopped indulging in any of those innovative shots. His hilarious comment got everyone to chuckle, including Wasim Akram and Shoaib Malik.

"They stopped hitting that shot after me. After the 2007 World Cup Final,"

Misbah remembers the moment

He added that all the players assumed that his shot got him in so much trouble, so we would not indulge in any of those.

"People looked at me and realised that they are not letting him live, so we are not going to play any of those."

Although he did reveal that people don't remember his 15 fours, and infact, he never missed that shot ever before in his life. Furthermore, he said the only problem with that shot was his execution which wasn't upto the mark.

2007 was India's first and only T20 World Cup title under MS Dhoni's leadership, while many of the senior players were rested for the tournament. India's first match in this T20 World Cup is against their arch-rivals Pakistan on the 23rd of October.
