The 3rd match of the Group Stage between West Indies and Scotland started off as thrilling affair as Scotland displayed fireworks against the mighty two-time champions, West Indies.

West Indies won the toss and put the World Cup underdogs to bat first as the Windies took the field. But Scotland came out of the bag to crumble the pillars of the Windies batting lineup to clinch the exquisite contest.

Scotland stun as batters light the stage

The opening duo from the Scottish lineup delivered brilliant performances as George Munsey hit an unbeaten 66 in 53 balls. With support from the other end Michael Jones hit 20 in 17 balls. Laying an anchored foundation the middle order came in with a few short lived but explosive performances.

Captain Richie Berrington hit 16 off 14 balls and Calum MacLead hit 23 off 14 balls.

West Indies' Alzarri Joseph shone with the ball with 2 wickets in 4 overs and gave away 28 runs. Jason Holder also took two wickets in 3 overs while only giving away 14 runs.

Kyle Mayers opened the batting attack with 20 runs off 13 balls. While Jason Holder swinged his willow in the fagend as he scored 38 runs off 33 balls. However, no other batters - apart from Holder and Mayers - could manage to make worthwhile runs as the Windies kept crumbling under pressure.

Two of Scotland's bowlers managed to pick up 2 wickets each Bradley Whale and Michael Leask scalped two wickets each. Mark Watt was the highlight of the day as he picked up 3 wickets in 4 overs and gave away a mere 12 runs.
