The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have inducted two former captains into their acclaimed Hall of Fame. Pakistan's first-ever Test captain Abdul Hafeez Kardar and T20 World Cup-winning skipper Younis Khan became the ninth and tenth players to find their names on the esteemed list.

Other players in the Hall of Fame are Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Zaheer Abbas, Imran Khan, Abdul Qadir, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis.

The two new entrants were decided by a voting panel of former players and journalists which included Miandad, Akram, Waqar, and former Pakistan women's captains Urooj Mumtaz and Sana Mir.

Younis, who is Pakistan's leading run-getter in Test cricket, expressed his delight on being honored alongside Kardar.

"I feel honoured and humbled to have been inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame. There are many notable names amongst the list inducted prior to me, whose performances have been outstanding. I, thus, feel it a matter of immense pride and honour for my name to be amongst those legends."

The 44-year-old played 118 Tests, 265 ODIs and 25 T20Is between 2000 and 2017. The late Kardar appeared in 26 Tests for Pakistan between 1946 and 1568.

Kardar's son Shahid Kardar thanked the PCB for recognising his father's contribution.
