After winning the inaugural edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2007, under Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India has found it difficult to latch on to the coveted trophy. They came perilously close in the 2014 edition, losing the final to Sri Lanka in the last over.

Currently, in its eighth edition, India are being tipped as one of the favorites to lift the title, which is Australia's possession for now.

Both sides are engrossed in a warm-up match, with India asked to bat first after Australia won the toss. Skipper Rohit Sharma, who was a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup's winning squad, is leading Team India in an ICC event for the first time.

At the toss, the 35-year-old spoke about how privileged he felt leading the nation.

"Few of them are on their first tour of Australia, a fantastic place to play cricket and enjoy while learning the conditions. It's a privilege, my first time as Indian captain in an ICC tournament and I'll look to enjoy this."

Sharma managed just 15 runs in the warm-up match, falling to Ashton Agar.  Interestingly, the Nagpur-born has most centuries (11) in ICC tournaments, and will look to add a few more once the Super 12 Stage gets underway on October 23.

The Men in Blue are 138 for 4 in 15 over as of publishing this report, with Dinesh Karthik (10*) and Surya Kumar Yadav (26*) in the middle.
