Sri Lanka will look to make their mark in the T20 World Cup 2022 that is set to begin later today.

The Lankan Lions were exceptional in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022 and they were crowned as the champions eventually.

Sri Lanka have an exciting squad at their disposal which has now been boosted by the returns of Lahiru Kumara and Dushmantha Chameera. Both players seem to have recovered from their respective injury problems and will join the Lankan Lions' quest for glory in Australia.

Chameera had an ankle injury that forced him out of the Asia Cup and he will be desperate to make amends in the World Cup now. It remains to be seen whether the team management is willing to give him a run out in the upcoming matches.

Meanwhile, Kumara was recovering from a hamstring strain and it seems that he has managed to get over his fitness issue.

The Asia Cup 2022 win came at a time when the country was going through a turmoil and Sri Lanka were considered as underdogs. However, they have turned things around and sent out a statement by winning the mega event. It remains to be seen whether they can step up and perform at a similar level in the World Cup now.
