Australian spinner Alana King has extended her stay in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) until 2024 after signing a two-year deal with the Perth Scorchers. King during her first season with the Scorchers last year, snapped 16 wickets at a miser economy of 5.84, which helped her side lift the WBBL 07 title.

Overall she has made 82 WBBL appearances and picked up 70 wickets at an impressive strike rate of 20.76.

The left-spinner made her WBBL debut with the Melbourne Stars in the inaugural season. King, 22, made her Australian debut in January this year and has since won a World Cup, Women's Ashes, and a Commonwealth Gold Medal for her side.

In a statement, King expressed delight with this extended association

“I’m absolutely pumped – I love playing for the Scorchers. We obviously won it during my first year so hopefully that’s an omen for a few more wins in the years to come.

"Personally, I just want to take as many wickets as I can for the Scorchers and help us win a few more games.”

The Scorchers take on the Sydney Thunder on October 16 in their opening encounter.
