In a remarkable turn of events, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has crossed the 6000-run landmark in T20 cricket during the fourth match of the ongoing tri-series against Pakistan.

Overall, he became the fourth New Zealand batter after Brendon McCullum, Colin Munro and Ross Taylor to attain this phenomenal feat.

Coming at number three, Williamson remained unbeaten on nine as the hosts chased down 131 without breaking a sweat in 16.1 overs. Although the Blackcaps skipper didn't hit a boundary, he ensured his team's victory by scoring the winning run.

In 238 T20s, Williamson has amassed 6006 runs at an average of 31.28 and a strike rate of 122.67. Despite being criticised for his strike rate at times, the 32-year-old has silenced his critics time and again, playing impactful T20 knocks.

He has had three stunning IPL seasons in 2017, 2018 and 2020, garnering 1308 runs at a magnificent average of 48.44 and a brilliant Strike rate of 141.86.

Hailed as New Zealand's best batter in this era, Williamson is the second-highest T20I run-getter from his country, with 2166 runs at an average of 32.32. With his form and experience, he is expected to take his side to new heights in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.
