Right-arm pacer, Graham Hume, has been drafted in the Ireland squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. He is set to replace Craig Young who has experienced a "recurrence of chronic issue," stated by Cricket Ireland.

"Unfortunately, whilst out in Sydney for our T20 World Cup prep camp, Craig experienced a recurrence of a chronic issue which we have been managing for quite some time," Cricket Ireland's head of physiotherapy, said.

"Whilst we thought we were on top of the issue, it sadly flared up once we arrived in Sydney and began training. Craig will now return home for further assessment."

Hume is a veteran of 98 first class games and made his Ireland debut in an ODI game against New Zealand in July this year, and made his T20I debut against Afghanistan the following month.

Talking about Craig Young, the experienced campaigner has been playing for Ireland since 2014, and is the joint second-highest wicket taker for the team in T20Is in 2022.

Ireland are placed in Group B alongside Zimbabwe, West Indies, Scotland, and Zimbabwe and will fight it out for the two slots available for the Super 12 stage.
