James Sales to stay at Northamptonshire until 2025

Northamptonshire County Cricket Club (NCCC) and James Sales have signed a two-year extension deal, keeping the youngster at the club until 2025. Sales' current contract expires post the 2023 season, which began in 2021.

The 19-year-old in 20 First-Class games scored 428 runs, with two fifties and picked up eight wickets in return. The Northampton-born has also appeared in 11 List-A and 2 T20 contests, scoring 127 runs and scalping three wickets altogether.

Sales featured in England Under-19 squad that reached the final of the ICC U19 World Cup in February, and has played 8 YODIs, amassing 248 runs and picking up five wickets.

​In his only U-19 Test,  the right-hander notched his maiden fifty in whites against Sri Lanka in August.
